In 1934, the New York Central #5344 was equipped with a sheet metal shroud, making the first streamlined locomotive in America, as the Commodore Vanderbilt. The locomotive's futuristic design quickly gained popularity among toy train and model makers in 2002 Commodore Vanderbilt made its return the rails. Constructed durable die-cast metal, the locomotive features Train Master Command Control and the Rail Sounds sound system. The tinplate metal Pull passenger cars include detailed lighted interiors removable roofs for convenient access.
